LCG is seeking an Level 2 Desktop Support Specialist that will provide support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. This person will respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. They will also have to document, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Ideal candidate will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position is at a location remote from the rest of the team and requires a high degree of independent discretion and judgment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide end-user troubleshooting and support for end- user to include desktop, laptop, applications and operations Provide end-user troubleshooting and support for staff on network and desktop printers Configure workstation and laptops with standard desktop image and install applications; optimize for performance and operation Support, promote and develop desktop management, software deployment, systems administration, data integrity and recovery Configure (hardware and network), install, manage, and troubleshoot desktop and network printers Ensure that all tickets are documented with current status, customer communications and full description of the problem/resolution daily Perform installation and troubleshooting of software; including all service packs, hot fixes, for all approved systems and devices Works independently and cooperatively as needed to research and resolve the most difficult and complex problems Use good discretion and judgment to develop and execute strategies to deliver effective support in an independent environment. Provide updates to the customer regarding the problem's status when the projected completion time for problem resolution changes or if the customer requests status MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or 5+ years equivalent work experience Certifications in A+, MCSE or MCPs in current Microsoft workstation, server and applications 2+ years demonstrated full-time experience troubleshooting current and previous Microsoft workstation operating system(s) 2+ years demonstrated experience supporting client configuration, administration and network access in Microsoft server environments Experience with desktop operating systems, including Windows 7 and 10 Extensive application support experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
