Supplemental Information The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of TS-312. (Req. 97353) This vacancy will be filled by new hire or by promotion of a current permanent status classified employee. There is no Civil Service written test requirement. SUBSTITUTIONS: Two years of experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work will substitute for the baccalaureate degree. Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows: A maximum of 90 semester hours may be combined with experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work to substitute for the baccalaureate degree. 30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for six months of experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work towards the baccalaureate degree. 60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work towards the baccalaureate degree. 90 or more semester hours credit will substitute for one year and six months of experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work towards the baccalaureate degree. College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of one year and six months of experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 90 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least six months of experience or training in information technology or electronic technician work to substitute for the baccalaureate degree. An associate degree in computer science will substitute for the baccalaureate degree. Verifiable experience in computer systems programming; or in systems, database, or network enterprise system support (hardware or software level) at a Louisiana State agency as a student worker enrolled in any baccalaureate degree program will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required professional experience on a month for month basis. A letter from the agency employing the former student must be submitted with the application and retained as part of the former student worker's record. A baccalaureate degree with twenty-four semester hours in computer science, management information systems (MIS), quantitative business analysis--computer science, electrical engineering, information systems and decision sciences, computer engineering, telecommunications, or computer information systems will substitute for one year of the required experience. A master's degree in the above fields will substitute for one year of the required experience. Specialized degrees will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience. Examples of Work Develops, either independently or as part of a team, new highly complex web and mobile enterprise applications using modern languages, frameworks, technology, and tools such as the .NET framework, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, HTML, and JavaScript as directed. Maintains, enhances, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with DOTD's existing highly complex enterprise applications and web sites, including COBOL and other legacy applications, Lotus Notes Databases and applications, web applications, SharePoint applications, Windows client applications, mobile applications, HTML websites, and SharePoint sites as directed. Develops complex reporting solutions using Microsoft SSRS and maintains or updates reports using such tools as Microsoft SSRS, Active Reports, ASP, ASP.NET as directed. Assumes sole responsibility for supporting, planning for, and maintaining OOTD's highly complex systems, such as AASIITO; Project Wise; PERBA; etc., as directed by management. Provides expert level technical advice, training, assistance, and guidance in their areas of expertise. Configures, maintains, supports, schedules updates and patches for OOTD's technical infrastructure, server environments, and client environments (web, application, Lotus Notes, SharePoint, Oracle, SQL Server, Citrix, AASHTOW are products, Bentley products, etc.) as directed. Analyzes, evaluates, designs, and architects database structures, triggers, etc. for OOTD's enterprise-wide systems as directed by management. Documents new and existing computer systems and processes to ease future maintenance work and provide customers with easy to follow instructions for the use of such systems and processes. Researches, identifies, discusses, and proposes modern ideas regarding technical architecture, frameworks, toolsets, standards, and processes. Researches, identifies, discusses, and proposes new tools, techniques, and technologies to improve the ability of Information Technology personnel to provide time- and cost- effective solutions to our customers. Consults with management to define and analyze the impact of proposed standardized policies, procedures, and develop action plans for implementing the same. Provides technical expertise to consultants when implementing new applications and provides expert advice to consultants regarding OOTD's web, database, and application standards. Participates in reviewing and planning for new computer application systems. Consults with management and other Information Technology professionals to identify and develop implementation plans for the most effective designs to support the needs of the customers and senior management. Consults with program managers and other customers to identify for both short- and long-term system needs, and develops plans for meeting their objectives. Evaluates and makes recommendations on computer software and hardware, products, services to meet the complex needs of OOTD's customers, such as the engineering sections. Consults with and provides technical assistance to private engineering companies who have contracts with OOTD and who use computer systems provided by OOTD. Conducts quality assurance reviews of new and existing highly complex systems, services, and data in all of DOTD's program areas, such as engineering; design; finance, etc., as well as IT program areas including Internet and Intranet. Consults with senior management to develop a plan for addressing any identified issues or problems. Performs all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed.SDL2017
