Position Summary: The Director of Maternal/Child Health will be responsible for the delivery of patient care while promoting the safety and well-being of all patients in the unit. Plans, directs, evaluates, and coordinates overall clinical nursing practice and administrative activities including fiscal and human resources responsibilities. Will develop and implement hospital policies and procedures and will maintain open communication with staff and physicians. Must possess the ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with a diverse population of employees, physicians, patients and their families. Must also have the ability to work productively under stressful circumstances. Must have knowledge of regulatory agency standards and requirements, budgeting, clinical competency, data analysis, conflict management, and strategic planning. The Director of Maternal/Child Health will be responsible for L&D, well-baby nursery, post-partum, a Level III NICU, lactation, and a childbirth education program but will not be responsible for a Pediatrics unit. There is no direct patient care involved in this position. Over 3,000 births per year take place at this facility, including water births. This newly created position is responsible for 150 FTEs. Skills, Experience, and Qualifications: - Current RN license - BSN required; Masters in a related field preferred - ACLS, BLS, NALS/PALS, and NRP required or in process - 5+ years’ experience required
