Job Description Responsible for full implementation of ALL aspects of the Work Ready U program, including: recruitment, set-up, preparation, instructional process, work with other instructors and training specialists and coordinator, student communication and coaching, data collection, follow-up and recognition. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Work Ready U Program Administration and Operations Coordinate the intake and processing of all student applications, conduct new student orientation and engage students in career development activities to earn educational and industry based credentials. Answer and respond to community questions via phone and email. Advise potential/current Work Ready U / Adult Education (AE) students about training and educational opportunities. Manage the assessment center schedule, resources, security, and process to test students for the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and Official Practice Test (OPT). Produce individualized student prescription reports for use in developing individual action plans. Coordinate follow-up communication with students about test scores, next steps, expectations, etc. Supervise Work Ready U Skills Gap Specialist to insure delivery of excellent adult education services including diagnostics, individual planning, monitoring, student retention, record keeping, recognition, and alignment with achieving performance. Supervise Work Ready U Data Clerk/Receptionist to insure timely and accurate data input via the LCTCS Work Ready U database and creation of program performance data and scorecards. Maintain day-to-day contact and coaching of Work Ready U Staff regarding program delivery expectations, scheduling, programing, resources, creative teaching techniques, and recognition to ensure student retention, plan completion, and individual goal achievement. Submit requisitions for purchasing required program items, supplies, assessments and resources. Assist with supervision of student worker(s) Maintain accurate student records regarding attendance, performance, progress, and status and submit course/student reports as on a weekly basis. Maintain contact with students via email, texting, Xenagrade, Canvas and/or phone and assist RPCC with maintaining contact with students. Review program performance scorecard data with the Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development on a monthly basis and take appropriate actions to improve performance. Monitor Program Performance Assist Vice Chancellor for Workforce development with setting and monitoring program benchmarks. Establish and share specific performance expectations with Work Ready U Staff and track performance via individual and program scorecards on a frequent basis Oversee data input of program and student information via the LCTCS Work Ready U database Produce timely and accurate performance scorecards to monitor key process performance on a monthly and weekly basis Develop and write reports for submission for LCTCS and other respective granting agencies. Outreach and Program Expansion Collaborate with other RPCC departments and Student Services for implementation and expansion of the program and alignment with Workforce Development and Academic Programs. Initiate and coordinate the 5 for 6 initiative with Student Services Develop and distribute marketing brochures, advertisements and online information on the program Seek and pursue opportunities for partnership to expand program offerings and geographical footprint. Instructional Delivery and Coaching Design, prepare and deliver effective one-on-one and small group, hands-on instruction and learning facilitation based on adult learning principles and training techniques that simulate the typical, relevant work environment. Create/maintain an orderly, controlled classroom/lab environment conducive to active engagement in learning. Organize and present instructional material at scheduled times and places in accordance with the learning objectives, and established individual and small group appointments. Encourage, recognize, reward and design incentives keep students motivated and engaged in the learning process. Practice housekeeping based on “best in class” 5-S industry standards Help students set and commit to achieving goals, plan specific actions, and overcome challenges/barriers and access resources that will facilitate their success. Provide students with information regarding their chosen career pathway and facilitate activities to place students in jobs that match the knowledge and skills learned. Teach students how to use the internet and other technology for online instruction, search and apply of job openings Communication & Transition Facilitation Demonstrate proficiency and utilize available technology and computer programs to execute course efficiently and effectively including: Xenegrade Quick Tools, Microsoft Office Power Point, Canvas, scanning, copying, printing and other online and technology based tools Report progress, needs, barriers, incidents, issues, and changes to the Work Ready U Program Coordinator a weekly and as needed basis to ensure initiatives are being met. Maintain frequent and routine communication with the Industrial Training Specialist, Technical Instructors and Academic Instructors regarding potential students and students currently participating in the Work Ready U program. Develop professional relationships with other departments, agencies, schools, industry partners, and programs. Network in order to build relationships that maximize recruitment efforts and facilitate transition pathways to education, training, employment opportunities Other duties as assigned as to contribute to the overall success of the Work Ready U Program and River Parishes Community College.
