Summary Job Statement
The Environmental, Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of their assigned Environmental, Health and Safety Specialists. Provides all locations within assigned Area with specialized support and oversight in the areas of OSHA, DOT, and EPA and KORE compliance (state and federal), workplace and fleet safety, and environment program management.
:Supervisor for the Environmental, Health and Safety Specialists as assigned.
:Provides assigned locations with the requisite guidance, oversight, and assistance to ensure the locations are able to safely operate in full regulatory compliance with all applicable OSHA, DOT, and EPA and KORE requirements and in a manner consistent with CCBCU policies and procedures.
:Conducts regular OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory compliance audits and workplace safety, fleet safety and environment program reviews at each assigned location. Prepares timely concise reports to the locations leadership team and appropriate division and corporate office personnel so as to remedy and/or escalate identified issues as needed on a timely basis.
:Analyzes loss experience and related data and works with location leadership to develop location :specific plans to reduce workplace incidents, accidents, and injuries. Assists location leadership in developing and communicating annual goals. Uses data collected from incident, accident, and injury reports to provide division operations management with topics for safety training.
:Collaborates with location leadership to develop a schedule of required regulatory and company based workplace safety, fleet safety, and environmental training. Monitors, tracks, and communicates completion of training by required associates including Supervisor and Manager Safety training and ensures that the requisite documentation has been suitably submitted and filed.
:Collaborates with local leadership to introduce, communicate, and ensure adherence to Company EHS policies and procedures.
:Ensures that emergency preparedness and evacuation drills are held regularly (at a minimum annually) and that all location personnel understand and conform to the emergency preparedness and response plan requirements.
:Conducts regular internal workplace safety, fleet safety, and environment program reviews with each assigned location to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and all CCBCU policies and assists location management in preparing for third party audits.
:Assists the locations with federal and state OSHA, EPA, and DOT audits, inspections, and inquiries consistent with established CCBCU policies and practices.
:Participates in monthly safety committee meetings for all assigned locations and provides necessary guidance to ensure meetings are effective.
:Leads workplace safety, fleet safety, and environment calls with key operations managers for all assigned locations to communicate new EH and S programs, review impending regulatory changes, and share best practices, etc.
:Reviews regularly with each assigned locations leadership team current workplace safety, fleet safety, and environment performance, regulatory compliance status, internal program review and/or third party audit findings, and related action plans, etc.
:Assist locations with determining the need for outside contractors/consultants to provide safety, security, or environmental services. Participates in the selection process to ensure the use of qualified contractors/consultants. This responsibility is done alongside the Corporate EHS Manager.
:Collaborates with other EHS Supervisors , Corporate EHS Manager, Corporate Claims Manager, EHS Coordinators and other key stakeholder functions (i.e. Sales, Distribution, Operations, Legal, Risk Management, Employee Relations, Finance, and Accounting, etc.) as needed to identify emerging issues and develops new performance improvement programs as needed to assist locations in sustaining a high leve
